Privacy Policy — VISION TEST by Givni Pvt Ltd

This Privacy Policy describes how Givni Pvt Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, retains and deletes information when you use the Vision Test mobile application (package name com.givni.eyetest, the “App”).

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Who we are

Vision Test is published by Givni Pvt Ltd. For any privacy-related question, request, or grievance, contact us at givniinfo@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

Account data: name, email address and/or phone number, password (stored as a one-way hash).
Profile data: optional profile image you choose to upload.
Vision-test data: your responses to in-app vision tests (e.g. Snellen chart, colour-vision plates, astigmatism & near-vision tests) and the resulting score/category. This data is generated by you while using the App.
Appointments & prescriptions: if you book an appointment with a doctor or upload a prescription, we store the related details so we can show them back to you and to the doctor you contacted.
Support communications: messages you send to us via email.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Device & usage data: basic technical data such as device type, OS version, and crash logs used only to diagnose problems and improve reliability.
Authentication tokens: a secure access token is generated when you log in and is stored on your device so you stay signed in.

2.3 Information collected by third parties

Razorpay — when you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by Razorpay. Card and UPI details are entered directly into Razorpay’s secure flow and are never stored on our servers. We only receive the Razorpay order ID, payment ID, signature and status. See Razorpay’s privacy policy.
Google Play — if you install via Google Play, Google may collect basic install/usage metrics governed by their own policy.

3. How we use your information

To create and authenticate your account.
To deliver core features: vision tests, eye-wellness content, doctor directory, appointment booking, prescription history.
To process subscription payments and provide subscription-gated content.
To show you your own test history and trends inside the App.
To send service-related notifications (e.g. subscription expiry, appointment reminders).
To respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your test data for advertising.

4. Sharing of information

We only share data in these limited situations:

Doctors you book with: when you book an appointment, the doctor sees the name, contact info and reason you provide for that booking.
Payment processor (Razorpay): to authorise and confirm your subscription payment.
Hosting & infrastructure: our servers are hosted with standard cloud providers under contractual data-protection terms.
Legal: when required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.

5. Data retention

We retain your data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service:

Account & profile data: retained while your account exists. Deleted (or anonymised) within 30 days of a verified deletion request.
Vision-test results, appointments, prescriptions: retained while your account exists so you can view your history. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
Payment / subscription records: we retain transaction records (amount, date, Razorpay IDs) for up to 8 years after the transaction, because the Income Tax Act, 1961 (India) and GST law require us to keep financial records. These records do not contain your card or UPI details.
Support emails: retained for up to 2 years to maintain context for follow-ups.
Backups: residual copies in encrypted backups are overwritten within 90 days of deletion.

6. How to delete your account and data

You can request deletion of your account and personal data in either of two ways:

In-app: open the Vision Test app → Settings → Delete Account. Confirm with your password. Your account is queued for deletion immediately.
Web: visit https://eyetest.givnitech.com/delete-account and submit the deletion form using the email or phone you registered with. You may also email givniinfo@gmail.com from your registered email.

On deletion we remove: your profile, vision-test history, appointment history, prescriptions, notifications, saved preferences, and authentication tokens. Financial records that we are legally required to keep (see section 5) are retained but are detached from your identifiable profile.

Verified deletion requests are completed within 30 days. If we cannot verify ownership of the account, we will contact you for further confirmation before deleting.

7. Security

Passwords are stored using one-way bcrypt hashing. All API traffic is served over HTTPS. Access tokens use Laravel Sanctum and can be revoked from the App at any time by logging out.

8. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data without parental consent, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email givniinfo@gmail.com.

10. Permissions used by the App

Internet & network state — required to talk to our backend API and process payments.

The App does not access your contacts, camera, microphone, location, or storage outside of its own app data.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes will be notified inside the App.
